Investments

The investments of CEZ Group in the electricity distribution network of Western Bulgaria reached 96 mln BGN in 2007.Thus for he last few years the company has invested the total amount of over 212 mln BGN.The funds have been invested mainly in increasing the quality and the security of supplies. Investments to the amount of about 90 mln BGN are planned for 2008.

The investments madefor the last three years have resulted in reductionof breakdown sand of electricity losses along the network in Western Bulgaria. The main contribution for the achieved results has the reconstruction and the modernization of the network, the replacement of the electricity meters, the replacement of the power transformers, as well as the better control over the condition of the networks and the access to them.

Since the beginning of 2006 CEZ replaced in Western Bulgaria 336 thousand electricity meters, 100 thousand of which in 2006 and 236 thousand in 2007. For the last two years the total number of 380 thousand electricity meters were relocated to the border of property (106 thousand in 2006 and 274 thousand in 2007). Last year 8410 new customers were connected to the network, thus totaling the number of customers of CEZ in our country to 1.97 mln at the end of 2007.The electricity sales of CEZ Group in Bulgaria in the last year reached 8.31billion kWh–over 3% more than the sales in 2006.

The three electricity distribution companies of CEZ in Bulgaria merged at the end of 2007 in the new company CEZ Distribution Bulgaria AD, which took over all their responsibilities and obligations related to the licence for electricity distribution.

• Recycling of electricity metering boards in residential blocks in the country
• Reconstruction of 20 kV electricity powerlines „Zvezda”and „Predel” in the regions of intensive construction works on the territory of Razlog and Bansko
• Reconstruction of cable network in the central part of the town of Pernikfrom 6 кV to 20 кV
• Reconstruction and modernization of switching stations „Pernik”, „Bozhurishte” and „Borovets”
• Reconstruction and modernization of switching stations „Eterna”, „Hospital”, „Ecoel”, „Hisarya”, „Stoyan Edrev” in Pleven and Lovech.
